About NewEx
Write Now: practice with a clear, small focus
Write Now is a free platform for short reading, spelling and writing activities at school and at home.
I develop the platform as part of NewEx. The aim is to offer practical exercises that an adult can place within teaching, support or shared practice.
What Write Now is designed to support
Sound, image and letters
Children can listen to a word, see an image and choose letters as they work with words and short sentences.
Another supported attempt
After an attempt that does not match the word, the keyboard offers fewer letter choices for the next attempt.
Adult follow-up
Teachers, reading specialists and parents choose the focus and can talk with the child about sounds, spellings and words afterwards.
Write Now is a supplement. It is not a test, diagnostic tool or replacement for planned teaching, assessment or individual support.
Privacy and learning data
Use without a student account
Write Now does not ask pupils to create an account or provide a name or email address. The platform is free of advertising, and learning statistics are not used for advertising, profiling or sale.
- Limited learning statistics: NewEx stores selected exercise data, such as product, exercise area, start, completion, attempts and use of support, to improve the platform.
- Approximate location: An IP address may be used briefly on NewEx’s own server to derive city and country. The IP address is not stored or sent to a third-party geolocation service.
- Local exercise overview: Completion marks in the exercise overview are stored in the current browser. They can be cleared on a shared device and do not form a learner profile.
